TEXAS IN A NUTSHELL
We started out in Kerrville Texas, where we got to meet Gordon Aimes from Big G's Texas roadshow, what a great guy, and as we were getting ready for the show, Mel Gibbons met up with us and gave us one of Devons jackets he wore in Iraq, an emotional start for the tour, ended up being a great time at the Back Porch Cantina that night. Then we headed to San Antonio to play at Rolling Oaks, awesome crowd, got to meet Larry from "ourtracks", met up with Terri, and "Dick Wiggler and the Cattleguards", also finally got to put a face with a name, the Outlaw 92.5's Hank Moon, sounds like we are getting a ton of airplay in both San Antonio and Kerrville. We left San Antonio and decided it was time for a short break, so we went tubing down the Guadalupe river that afternoon, then suffered severe sunburns for the next 3 days, now I know why Mike McClure calls me "White Bread". After the river trip we played the Depot in Paris that Saturday, awesome venue, a fully restored train depot, can't say enough about that place, some new friends indeed. After that we settled into the campground at Cooper Lake for a couple days rest, then it was on to Gainesville to play at an old pizza hut turned into a retirement village, fully equipped with the shuffleboard table and all, guess thats why they called that gig a "tweaner". The next day we headed to Dillons for a wednesday night gig, crowd was really feelin' it for a wednesday, and again, more great friends. Thursday night we took advantage of our night off and checked out a blues jam at the Depot while the storms blew through, Stoney got up and played a few, great atmosphere. We finished the tour with a gig at a big club in Paris called "Crosswire", this place is top notch, loved the huge stage, plenty of room 4 us to run back and forth and cut loose...... so we did. Met so many new fans in Paris, we want to thank everyone for helping to make this tour a success. For our fans in San Antonio, call 92.5 and keep this thing going, in Kerrville call REVFM and talk to Natalie or Big G, and for our Paris fans, please call and request us at 93.9fm and 95.5fm, they both have our music. One more thing, cd sales are going nuts, we actually sold out during the tour and have since ordered more, they will be restocked very soon, and digital downloads are still available at all the outlets including www.ourtracks.com, and as always, thanks for the support!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NEW NEWS FOR OUR ROWDY FANS!!!
For our friends at the lake, we will be kicking off the tour with a gig at Wobbly Boots in Osage Beach on April 5th, last time we were there you guys came out in full force, a sold out crowd at the lake on a snowy night, good times. Then its off to Texas, starting our Texas tour with a wednesday night in Kerrville at the Back Porch Cantina with Natalie Steele and gang from REVFM. The next day, thursday April 10th, will be a busy day, we are meeting with Kieth from Texas Music Times for an interview, then on to the studios of 92.5 the outlaw in San Antonio to talk to the legendary Hank Moon, later that day we are going to the US Army hospital in San Antonio where our friend Tabatha Goyette has set up a time when we can bring our acoustics in and play for our troops, after that its off to Rolling Oaks bar that night as we headline the Texas Music Series show. We have 7 more shows after that in Texas including gigs in Gainesville, Commerce, and Paris, and one at Sharpies in Schreveport Louisiana. We’ll keep you updated as the tour progresses, if you live in any of these towns be sure and call your local radio stations and request our music before we get there. Hope everybody can make it to these shows, we are already hearing from some of our Missouri friends that are flying down to catch a show, and I know the Texas fans will be there supporting live music, so tell your friends and we hope to see you there!
ALL THE NEW STUFF WE FORGOT TO BLOG ABOUT
Well, its been way too long. We're gonna get you caught up now. First off, we want to give props to Hambone for spinning our tunes on "Dirty Fridays" radio show in Woodward Oklahoma, along with all the stations that have added us recently in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and New Mexico, you guys rock, thanks for the spins. Since our last blog we've been busy writing, and touring. We left home on November 12th and headed to Nashville to showcase at 12th and Porter. It was great seeing Laurie again, and Cory Gierman from Muzik Mafia took us to another club after the show, we got to talk to John Rich and James Otto for a bit, but had to leave fairly early so we could hit the road again. Then it was on to Fayetteville, Arkansas where we played at Georges Majestic Lounge, what a kickass club with a ton of history, good times. We had to leave Arkansas quick so we could make soundcheck at Maggie Mays on sixth street in Austin Texas (about a 9 hour drive). We got soundcheck done and decided to check out Austin for a bit. Live music capital of the world, awesome town, awesome street, I saw a shirt that said "Keep Austin Wierd", trust me, its working. Then we headed to Borger, Texas, good times 4 sure. The club owners made us feel like family, great fans in Borger, can't wait to play there again. Finally we played the final night of the run in Anson, Texas. Met some great people, and gained some great fans, also made some connections, looks like Shreveport, Louisiana will be added to the schedule soon, as well as several more in Texas and Mississippi. It was back home to the newly renovated "Cruisers" night club in Sedalia, Mo. If you haven't been there since Gary Graham took over, you should. He's getting national acts in there, and really promoting live music in Sedalia. Then we were in Leavenworth, Kansas at the High Noon Saloon where Ryan and the staff really know how to throw a party. We've decided that meteorologists can just look at our schedule if they want to know when the next storm is moving in, its bound to be on our show dates. 4-6 inches of snow was falling as we headed to the Beaumont Club to play with Chris Cagle at Q104's Jingle Bell Bash, which was a huge success, gained a ton of fans, and had a blast in the process.
